Derek and Mariah Travel to Tempe to Get Married! Tempe Mission Palms.

Wow I posted a lot of images from this wedding!  So many to share!  Mariah booked me through the knot.  Since they were coming from Kansas I was not able to meet with them before the wedding.  They were coming from Kansas to get married in Tempe at the Tempe Mission Palms.  I knew the minute I walked into the hotel room where Mariah was getting ready that we were going to get along famously.  Mariah and Derek were so easy to photograph with their laid back personalities.  The two of them were up for anything I suggested, which I really appreciate.  It was a small wedding with a small bridal party which allowed us a lot of time to take pictures, so we took advantage, Ha!!  Let me tell you a little of how Derek and Mariah met.

It all began when Mariah met her friend Katy in college.  Katy had a boyfriend named Louie, who played on a men's softball team.  Katy invited Mariah to go with her to one of Louies softball games and to meet their friend Derek.  Mariah figured why not she just moved to Kansas City and didn't have a lot of friends yet.  The night she met Derek he was very shy and didn't talk much.  At the end of the night everyone was going out for dinner but it was getting late that Mariah decided she better skip dinner and just go home.  Derek still to this day jokes that she "ditched" him that night.  However the very next night they met up again, and pretty much as much as they could after that!  Mariah also quickly learned how NOT shy Derek was and how much he likes to talk!  One of the many traits Mariah likes about Derek, he can always keep a conversation going and isn't afraid to be goofy.  After meeting parents, going on vacations, talking about their future together, and realizing that even through the worst times there is no one else they rather have by their side.  It's February 2015, Derek and Mariah were on their way to Colorado, with Louie and Katy.  The weekend was going to be full of skiing, ice skating, riding snowmobile's and shopping.  Little did Mariah know she would also be getting engaged!  Mariah thought Katy was actually going to get engaged so she was very surprised!  Mariah and Derek headed to Good Times for some snowmobiling.  The view was amazing all the way up the mountain, once they got to the Georgia Pass the four of them ventured off from the rest of the group (which most people who know Mariah know how nervous she could get and was so concerned with getting back with the group), the three of them had another plan.  Once they finally got Mariah off the snowmobile and to take her goggles and helmet off, Derek then surprised her by getting down on one knee and asking Mariah to marry him!  Mariah  couldn't have been happier, not only was she being asked to marry someone she loved with all her heart, the setting was incredible and the people who set them up were able to be there with them!  They are excited to see what the future holds.
Wishing this very sweet, beautiful fun couple a lifetime of happiness!
