Jason + Dena = wedding @ Sassi

Image
Where to start? When my friend Nancy heard that Dena was engaged she sent her my way. I met with Dena and Jason and instantly felt comfortable with them and was very excited to be their wedding photographer. Since the time of meeting Dena up to the wedding I have gained a new friend. In getting to know Dena through my photography workshop, emails and fb I noticed she had a specific idea of how her wedding would feel, look and be documented. In quoting Dena "I am a pictureaholic". I have been shooting weddings forever, but I still get nervous and every once in awhile I will feel intimidated and this was one of those days. However, once I get to the venue and have my camera in hand the feelings all go away and I never lose sight of the importance of this once a in lifetime moment! Jason and Dena were married at Sassi , an incredible venue in north Scottsdale. It was an amazing wedding that ran perfectly with the help of Valerie with blueprint affairs . I also had the lovely Tr...

I have to say that March was a record breaker for me with photography. There are months out of the year that are always busy such as March, April, October and November, but it has been insane. For the most part I am staying on top of it, until you look around my house. It is like I just opened my eyes for the first time in over a month and couldn't believe the mess that had developed... My husband can only do so much. So today I am going to take a break from work and clean up and get organized. Here are some post you can look forward to. Such as Alex who is a senior at Mountain Ridge High. Tim and Alison's engagement pictures. We spent a few hours at the Renaissance Festival. Raeannon and Lazaro's engagement pictures in desert wildflowers. We were asked to leave from one location and it was very windy out. Some details shot's from Beth and Brock's wedding. They were married on April 3rd. Jason and Dena's wedding. They just got married at Sassi on Eas...

~Ranch Wedding~

OK I love how this wedding turned out. It has been a long time since I have done a western wedding, on a real working ranch, with great light and a beautiful couple. So Katelyn and I played phone tag for a couple months before we actually had a chance to talk and set up a time to meet. We decided to meet where the wedding would take place, Old MacDonald Ranch. Now a point of interest, without knowing when talking to Katelyn, she is the cousin of my husbands cousin who is part of the Old Mac Donald Ranch history. Go to their website to read the history of the ranch, which has been a part of my husband's cousin's family since the 1950's. Jason and Katelyn were married on March 27th at the ranch. It was a bit windy on this afternoon, the only thing to complain about. Everything was perfect!! Katelyn and her bridesmaids were so beautiful, along with some very handsome groomsmen. We had a lot of fun walking around the ranch taking pictures. Jason and Katelyn were up for anythin...
