I am a wife. I am a mother to three amazing boys and one daughter in law. I love Jesus. I love coffee and ice cream almost the same. I love to travel, really love to travel. I love to hike. I love my girlfriends, my tribe. I would talk to my sister everyday if she would let me. My heart is full when everyone is home. I love my job so much I have been a photographer for over 25 years now. I love weddings. I am blessed.
Step Back In Time For This Beautiful Valley Ho Wedding!
Dan and Bresha had a very fun step back into the 70's themed wedding at Hotel Valley Ho. It was a great success. There was a lot of thought and detail into this themed wedding that brought me right back, even the music at the reception. It was a wedding filled with nostalgia and I loved it.
Here is Dan and Bresha's story in her words.;-)
“Life is a Journey, Not a Destination” – our motto
Dan and I met in May 2000, when Dan joined the work force
where I had been employed for a few years.
It was almost 8 years later when we fell in love.
During the first 8 years, we were involved in many work-related
projects together. However, there wasn’t always a fondness between us. We
worked for different divisions within the same organization. There was an abundance
of competition and conflict. Dan’s nickname for me was the “Queen of Darkness”
(as I found out later), because I was good at my job and on the opposing
“team”. Dan likes to recant a story in which his office was out of paper and he
had to bargain with me to trade paper for water. I don’t remember that, but
it’s a cute story.
Something sparked between us at an annual meeting in 2008.
Assigned to the same table for small group discussion, something changed. I
don’t know why, or how, but our lives would never be the same.
The courting began…notes left under keyboards (still
continue to this day) and secret meetings in the warehouse. It was the most
amazing transition, from fellow employees to soul mates…
I love how the families participated in the dress code! You really feel like these pictures were taken in 1970.
We spent the first 8 years as co-workers, the next 5 years
falling in love and we have the rest of our lives to experience our journey
together. Who knows what forever will bring…I can’t wait to see what happens
This wedding was amazing! Everything about it was perfect. Hailey and Austin were married at the Oakmont in Flagstaff. Yes, it rained almost all the way up until the ceremony started but then it stopped and there was this beautiful cloud cover followed by a peak a boo sun. Hailey and Austins details were simple, with purple and boots! Hailey's bouquet was lavender, just lavender, I mean how cool is that. Lets talk about the reception for just a second, it was like being at Denim and Diamonds. Everyone knew how to country dance, everyone. There were so many cute dresses and boots dancing on the dance floor. Hailey and Austin had a fun crowd and I think everyone stayed until the very end. A good start for this sweet couple that met through a mutual friend while Austin was attending NAU. Wishing Hailey and Austin a lifetime of adventure and love!
My first wedding of 2014 was with Nicole and Chad at Encanto Park Clubhouse. This wedding was so sweet with fabulous details. I mean really fabulous details, from the location, to the bridesmaids attire and reception details. If you follow my blog regularly you know I usually do not post to many detail shots, I always photograph them, I just do not post them. For this post I am posting more then average because they were just so fun. Thank you so much Nicole and Chad for allowing me to capture your sweet wedding. It was such a great way to start 2014.
Do you know this year many of my friends children will be getting married. Does that make me older or wiser! I prefer wiser and lets ad more experienced. I have been photographing weddings for a very long time, long time, ha! I will say honestly, I mean with all honestly I still love it, if not more then when I started. Still growing, experimenting, learning. This lovely couple is Ashley and Keafer. Ashley was about 5 when I first met her. Her parents were my first neighbors when I moved to Arizona in 1992. We became fast friends, Ashley's parents Don and Martie and I instantly. I loved living next door to them. Ashley use to babysit my boys too. I remember feeling so honored to photograph Ashley's senior pictures, man she is a beauty! Now I get to photograph her wedding in December. I really enjoyed getting to know Keafer while photographing their engagement pictures. They seem to complement each other perfectly.
I would like to share with you Ashley and Kea…
